Welcome to September, WWME San Diego Community!
Our next Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend Experience is September 18 – 20 at Mission San Luis Rey and it is shaping up to be a full one. We encourage everyone receiving this newsletter to sign up to be a prayer couple for the weekend. Please reach out to your community leaders or use the contact form on this site if you need help getting in contact with them. What better way to support a special couple on the weekend than to pray for them throughout the experience!
On September 12, San Diego WWME will host the Region leadership meeting. There will be a potluck in the evening at the Rivette’s house in Oceanside. All are invited. We ask that if you would like to attend that you bring a side dish and/or a dessert to share and respond to the event Evite or let us know you’d like to join us.
Our very own Fr. Ravenkamp has shared that Bishop Pham of the Diocese of San Diego has encouraged all of our parish priests to encourage couples to participate in Worldwide Marriage Encounter, Retrouvaille, and Engaged Encounter in a letter sent to each parish. It is great to see how we are being supported by the highest levels of our clergy since the recent recognition of our movement by the Vatican. We encourage everyone in community who have good relationships with their parish priests to respectfully use this opportunity as a conversation starter about WWME and how we can help the married couples in their communities. San Diego Team couples are ready and willing to support inviting activities at your parishes, including information tables and pulpit talks. Our community meetings for September are:
- East County Community usually meets on the second Friday of the month.
- Northeast Community will meet in the evening on Saturday, September 12
- South Riverside Community will meet in the morning on Saturday, September 26 at Peltzer Pumpkin Patch in Temecula
- Northwest will meet in the evening on Saturday, September 26 at Sunset Dialogue (see the flier above)
- South Bay will meet in the evening on Saturday, September 26
And of course, we have another month’s worth of dialogue questions for you. Daily dialogue is the best gift of yourselves you can give to each other. We encourage you to make the most of it and all the tools you learned on your WWME Experience!
