Happy June! June 1 was a very special day for our beloved Fr. Jim Boyd who celebrated his 60th anniversary of Ordination! Please join us in prayer and thanksgiving for Fr. Jim and his many gifts. Fr. Jim has presented Marriage Encounter, Engaged Encounter, and Retrouvaille weekends in English and Spanish. He has also been active in support of Knights of Columbus and the Apostleship of the Sea. We want to begin this month’s update with a heart-felt thank you to all of the community who supported the April 14-16 weekend attendees with your prayers and presence at the beginning of the weekend and at the end as well. February is upon us and with it comes our first Weekend Experience of the year, hosted at Mission San Luis Rey Retreat Center in Oceanside, February 3-5! We have a full weekend. Thank you to all those who have said “yes” to being prayer couples and also to helping on Friday night of the weekend. The Weekend can’t succeed without the support of community. We’re also very excited to share the upcoming, parish based enrichment for married couples at St. Elizabeth Seton in Carlsbad. We hope all of your Christmas and New Year community celebrations were joyful and uplifting. Our San Diego Worldwide Marriage Encounter is jumping into 2023 with a lot of exciting events. Firstly, the East Valley and Northeast Communities will be hosting their annual Pie Party on Saturday, January 7 at 9am in Poway. It will be a gathering of community friends to enjoy good food and drinks. All that is asked at that you bring a “pie” of some sort (e.g. fruit, meat, pizza, etc.) to share. Earlier in November we were blessed to meet with the San Diego community leaders. Heading into Thanksgiving this year, we are most grateful for everyone’s steadfast support of their communities and our experiences. In the next month, each of our San Diego Community groups will be gathering.
